ACCESET PRIVACY POLICY

 

1.       INTRODUCTION

1.1.   Acceset Pte Ltd. (UEN: 201810050N) a company registered in Singapore (“Company” or “us” or “we”), own, operate and control the Acceset platform (“Platform”). We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.  

1.2.   This policy (together with our Terms and Conditions at: https://acceset.com/terms-of-use) sets out how we will process and use any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will handle it. By visiting and using our Platform, you accept and consent to the practices described in this policy. 

2.       Information we collect from you 

2.1.   We will collect and process the following data about you: 

2.1.1. Information about you that you give us when you create an account. For Seekers, such information will be limited to your age group, your gender, your phone number and your email address. For Befrienders, Moderators and Administrators, we will collect your school email address, phone number, gender for the purposes of verifying your identity.

2.1.2. Information you create when utilizing the Platform writing and chatting tool. The information is distributed for the purpose of facilitating matches and communications between users. 

3.       Uses of your information  

3.1.   We use the information about you in the following ways: 

3.1.1. to facilitate matches and communication between you and other users;

3.1.2. to supply you with the required information in the event of a police investigation;

3.1.3. to update our algorithm as part of an ongoing effort to keep the site safe for you;

3.1.4. to optimize the user interface and user experience of our product; and

3.1.5. to further our outreach efforts and grow the community.

4.       Disclosure of your information 

4.1.   You agree that we have the right to share your personal information with: 

4.1.1. Selected third parties including business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors on a need-to-know basis for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you and analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our site (save where the contract involves the purchase and sale of personal data, or where the disclosure of personal data is the main purpose of the contract); 

4.1.2. To third parties in the event that (i) we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we will disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets and/or (ii) the Company or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be part of the assets transferred to such third party; and 

4.1.3. If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions or other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction, 

provided always that (as far as is permitted under the applicable law) the receiving party undertakes or is otherwise under an obligation to deal with or process such personal data only in accordance with this Privacy Policy.  

5.       Where we store your personal data 

5.1.   We engage commercial cloud storage providers to store the data that we collect from you. Therefore, your data may be transferred to and stored in different jurisdictions and may also be processed by staff operating within the various countries who work for us or for one of our contractors. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take commercially reasonable steps to ensure that your data is handled securely and in accordance with this privacy policy and the relevant privacy laws.  

5.2.   Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share the password with anyone. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will take all commercially reasonable efforts to prevent unauthorized access. 

6.       Your rights 

6.1.   You have the right to access information held about you. Any access request will be subject to a fee of USD10.00 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

7.1.   Our site may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for your access of these websites. Please check their individual privacy policies for more information on how your personal data will be handled by these websites. 

8.       Changes to our privacy policy 

8.1.   We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time. Any changes we make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by e-mail. You agree that it is your responsibility to check periodically for any updates or changes to our privacy policy.
